Some call it sightseeing. Others call it ecotourism. We call it a day at the park.
From wetlands and woodlands to beaches and trails, exploring our assorted natural habitats is a non-stop adventure. Discover seasonal flowers and native wildlife on guided tours of freshwater marshes and coastal hardwood swamps, then head over to the Butterfly Garden and take a break when you’re done. Park enhancements make it even more accessible with the addition of over nine miles of new trails and expanded car-free loops. So you’ll have even more to explore while you’re here.
Whether you’re hiking or biking, or just want a chance to spot a gator, this section of the park offers a more backcountry feel because of its environment full of pine trees, cattails, and other wild flowers.
Meet some of the critters that call Gulf State Park home at our Nature Center. Come with a curiosity to learn more about the Gulf’s precious natural resources and leave with a new appreciation of your connection to the natural world. Weekly programs and guided tours offer unique learning opportunities for kids of all ages.
